Vision Statement for PE

At Whitnash Primary School we strive to provide all our children with a rich and diverse PE and school sport experience.  It is our belief that having the opportunity to experience high quality physical activity is key to a child’s spiritual, moral, social and cultural development.

Our aim is to develop positive attitudes towards physical activity which will enable our children to make good healthy lifestyle choices and promote life-long participation in sport.

Whitnash Primary School supports the provision of Physical Education for our children through Fit4Schools.  Fit4Schools provide specialist coaches, Core Professional Development for our teachers, fitness testing for our pupils and help us enhance our PE curriculum and activities.

The Fit4Schools coaches have been delivering a range of fun and engaging lessons to all children at Whitnash Primary since September 2016.  Teachers have also been included in the lessons providing them with ideas and suggestions to develop and use in their own PE lessons.  Fit4Schools have also delivered their testing programme whereby all children (year 1-6) are tested four times within the year on a range of activities.  Each child has a secure password to log into the Fit4Schools website to view their results and download a free programme card.  Letters are available for all parents/carers from the child’s class teacher which explains how to use the online portal.  Fit4Schools have had a positive impact on the teaching and learning of PE this year at Whitnash and will be working with us even more closely next year.
