Our School Rights

We all have the right to feel safe all the time.

We all have the right to respect.

We all have the right to learn.

Our School Rules

●    Respect and care for all children and adults who work in school.

●    Be where you should be.

●    Follow instructions first time.
●    Look after and take care of our school.
●    Be polite and helpful.
●    Wear school uniform.
●    Walk sensibly and quietly around school.

At Whitnash Primary the rules we have are to help make life more enjoyable for everyone as they concern the safety and the well-being of all pupils.

These rules are re-enforced through the school’s positive behaviour management system.  Children are rewarded for appropriate behaviour through:

  •  ‘Positive Learning Behaviour’ reward points.

  • The ‘Good to be Green’ approach.

  •  ‘Caught You Being Good’ responsibility rewards.

Our overall aim is to encourage in each child a sense of self-discipline, self-respect  and respect towards others and their property.

Whitnash Primary run a Nurture/Thrive provision to support children with the development of their social and emotional well-being.  This provision is targeted at the specific identified needs of individual children.

The school uses the Thrive programme to screen the emotional wellbeing of all children.  This information is used to positively target areas of need for whole cohorts and individual children.

Whitnash Primary understands that the social, emotional and mental health of all of our pupils' is as important as their accademic success.  Our school takes the time necessary to understand the needs of individual pupils and is fully committed to the success of every child.

PUPILS ARE CONSTANTLY ENCOURAGED TO MAKE THE CORRECT CHOICES AND ARE GIVEN OPPORTUNITIES TO REFLECT ON THEIR ACTIONS.
