The Queen's Garden

After a couple of months of hard work the garden at the front of the school was completed and has been dedicated to Queen Elizabeth II in celebration of her 90th birthday.

We hope you agree that it has made a huge improvement to the school entrance and we thank you for all the positive feedback. We hope it will be enjoyed by pupils, parents, staff, bees and butterflies for years to come.

We’ve had lots of support from local businesses and would like to say a big thank you to Ed Smyth Landscapes, The Greatest Scapes, BPS GardenForce, Travis Perkins, Jewsons, Wyevale Garden centre, Smith’s Nurseries, Homebase, Lindleigh Electrical and Jackie Warmington for donations of time, materials, plants and money.

And a big thank you to the parents and children who have made this happen and the PTA for helping fund this project.

As anyone who enjoys gardening knows, a garden is never really finished, so work will continue to add further plants over the year, care for ones there and possible add a few more features. If you would like to get involved, you are very welcome.

Happy Birthday Ma’am!

The wooden sign was made for the Queen's Garden and is in pride of place to show the significance of the garden for years to come.

The Whitnash family Tree

The whole school has been involved with another little project to make the school entrance even more welcoming. Lynne and Clare painted a sign using the Whitnash logo and invited all pupils, teachers and staff to add their finger prints to it to make up the leaves on the tree.

Clare said "It represents the fact that everyone at Whitnash is treated as an individual but together we make up the Whitnash family.”
