Science
2017/2018

Mad Science club began after school this week with 15 lucky children having a chance to explore the power of static electricity. They investigated with balloons and then had a chance to see electricity jumping from a Van de Graaff generator. The children are all looking forward to next week.

Science Fair

On the 27th March 2018 twelve fantastic Science students from our school went to Warwick University to represent Whitnash in the annual Ogden Trust Science Fair competition.
There were over 100 entries from across Coventry and Warwickshire and our children had a wonderful time. They proudly displayed their Science Fair entries and explained them confidently to the judges. They enjoyed having a look around the University and hearing a talk by a professional physicist.
We are very proud of all the winners and a special well done to Jack Reading who brought back the Lower Key Stage 2 bronze award. Well done to all who entered the competition. We look forward to seeing even more entries next year!

Science Assembly
25 April 2018
Children really enjoyed a visit from 'Mad Science' this week. Georgia, the scientist, made smoke rings, tested our lung capacity and even made a member of Year 3 into a mummy! Thank you to 'Mad Science' for a great assembly.

The Digestive system
Year 4 had a great time today investigating the digestive system. They made the parts of the digestive system out of real life object and showed how the food travelled through the body. Lots of fun was had while the children were learning!

Campion School's Science Skills

We would like to say a big THANK YOU to Campion School 's Science department for visiting us during Science Week an amazing all of our students with their impressive Science skills.
The children particularly loved this experiment... even if it made us all jump!
Science Week
Our Science week has got off to a great start with with 29 new science teachers! Miss Roger and Mrs Stevenson were able to take a back seat today when Year 3 became Reception teachers! The Year 3s taught the younger children some essential facts about volcanoes before showing them how to make a model one erupt. It was wonderful to see how kind the older ones were to their younger peers, making sure everyone had a fair turn. What a great start to the week!
