SATs Revision

We know SATs aren't everything. We know you need lots of time over the holidays to rest and relax so you are ready for an action-packed Summer term. However, we also know there are some students who want to do a little revision over the holidays to get themselves as ready as possible for next term's SATs tests.

IF YOU WOULD LIKE, there are some activities here to keep you going over the break. DO NOT DO THEM ALL IN ONE DAY. Just follow the instructions - if it says 10 minutes a day, that's all you need. If it doesn't tell you, do as much as you feel is necessary.  Remember, you need some 'you' time too. You don't need to do every subject every day and you only need to do the level that is right for you. If you do too much, you won't be fresh for next term, so treat yourself with kindness. There are also answers included so you can check your work. None of the links will disappear after the Easter holidays, so you can always come back to them in later weeks. Good Luck!

See what we are reading.
Journey to the river sea.JPG

Journey to the River Sea by Eva Ibbotson

This satisfyingly old-fashioned story is set in the early 1900s. Orphan Maia is thrilled to learn she is to live with relatives in South America. She cannot wait to experience the sights, sounds and smells of the Amazon and is particularly looking forward to meeting her twin cousins.

When Maia arrives, however, the family is far from welcoming and she is saddened to see that they have blocked out all evidence of the rainforest from their stuffy home.

This enchanting story, Ibbotson weaves a charming, compelling and warm-hearted tale of friendship, our responsibility to those around us, and the importance of the natural world.

Spelling Songs

These are spelling songs which go to the tunes of nursery rhymes. They cover all the spelling strands covered in the SATs so will be useful to help children to remember the rules for each letter string.
