Non Fiction Text
Sycamore class have written non-fiction text pages about what they have learnt about the Stone Age so far. They tried different ways of presenting the information in interesting ways. We think they are great!
Sycamore make Pear & Chocolate Cake
See what we are reading.

The Boy With The Bronze Axe, Kathleen Fidler.
This is the story of life nearly 3,000 years ago. Kali and Brockan are in trouble. They have been using their stone axes to chip limpets off the rocks, but they've gone too far out and find themselves trapped by the tides. Then, an unexpected rescuer appears, a strange boy in a strange boat, carrying a strangely sharp axe of a type they have never seen before.

The Hundred-Mile-An-Hour Dog, Jeremy Strong
Streaker is no ordinary dog. She's a rocket on four legs with a woof attached, and Trevor has got until the end of the holidays to train her. If he fails, he'll lose his bet with horrible Charlie Smugg, and something very, very yucky involving frogspawn will happen...

Stig of the Dump, Clive King
Barney is a solitary little boy, given to wandering off by himself. One day he is lying on the edge of a disused chalk-pit when it gives way and he lands in a sort of cave.
Here he meets 'somebody with a lot of shaggy hair and two bright black eyes' wearing a rabbit skin and speaking in grunts. He names him Stig.
Of course nobody believes Barney when he tells his family all about Stig, but for Barney cave-man Stig is totally real.

Year 3 Play the Glockenspiel
Sycamore children have been enjoying learning how to play the glockenspiel. They focused on the strong beat and concentrated really well. Marvellous musicians!
Maple Become Archaeologists
This week maple class have been archaeologists and have taken part in an excavation of artefacts to find out more about the stone age
Healthy Eating
Maple class have been discussing in PSHE about keeping a healthy body and mind by taking part in exercise as part of our daily routine. Here are some freeze frames of some exercises we discussed.

Chairs go on Strike!!

Maple are all Art and DT
In art we have been looking at making collage based on the work of Picasso. We made lots of different version of a portrait and used waxed crayons to have chunked colour.
In DT we designed and made our own volcano pencil pots!
